Remote Kubernetes contracts concentrate on platform engineering, SRE, and application migration. Most briefs assume production experience with managed distributions, EKS, AKS, GKE, alongside GitOps tooling like Argo CD or Flux. Helm chart authorship, operator-pattern experience, and service-mesh exposure (Istio, Linkerd) lift rates; raw kubectl-jockey roles now sit at the lower end of the market. Engagements run six to twelve months, often tied to migration programmes or platform rebuilds. Fully-remote placements dominate for European and US clients; some regulated briefs still require occasional on-site time. Expect Terraform or Pulumi for provisioning, Prometheus and Grafana for observability, and a strong Linux/networking baseline. English is standard; overlap with an engineering team is usually required.
